Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
At least once a year, Christians are reminded of Jesus’ prayer for his disciples that “they may be one so that the world may believe” (see John 17.21). Hearts are touched and Christians come together to pray for their unity. The Brothers of the community of La Valla invited the Brothers of l’Hermitage, Marlhes and Saint-Etienne to mark, as is appropriate, the birthday of the Foundation of the Institute. World Council of Churches (WCC): Assembly Planning Committee meets in Cyprus
The World Council of Churches (WCC) Assembly Planning Committee (APC) is meeting in Cyprus from 9-16 January to develop central building blocks of the WCC 11th Assembly. School and work: along these lines the Fathers of the Opera Don Guanella have been carrying out a project of evangelization and charity for young people with disabilities in Adidome for eight years, in the diocese of Keta-Akatsi, in eastern Ghana, on the border with Togo. Year-end roundtable: A look back at 2018’s challenges and signs of hope
Looking back on the year, I have at least one indelible memory: being in the crowd at St. Peter’s Square on Sunday, Oct. 14, the day that Óscar Romero and six others were canonized.
