Redemptorists. Fr. Guy Desrochers CSsR, appointed as Auxiliary Bishop in Canada
The Pope has appointed Rev. Father Guy Desrochers, C.Ss.R., as Auxiliary Bishop of the diocese of Alexandria-Cornwall, currently united in persona episcopis to the Archdiocese of Ottawa (Canada). At present Father Guy, is the Spiritual Director of the Sanctuary of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré and Preacher of Spiritual Retreats in Canada and in the United States. He is also Titular Bishop of Melzi. Despite migrants’ plight, outreach to them gives nun ‘hope in humanity’
Sr. Norma Pimentel’s caring outreach to immigrants on the U.S./Mexico border earned her the praise of Pope Francis in 2015 during an ABC-TV virtual town hall meeting with the pontiff.
And this past May, she was awarded the 2018 Laetare Medal from the University of Notre Dame for her ministry. It is considered the nation’s highest honor for Catholics. Continue reading
