Inauguration of the 47th National Week for Institutes of Consecrated Life

Changing Church: Understanding Change Processes in Church Contexts
Students will consider what change might mean in the context of the Church, the forces and triggers for change, both internal and external, the reasons for resistance to it and possible means of overcoming these, and the different models and approaches which might have relevance and utility.

FMA: “Together for Peace”
On 25 April 2018 the second day of interreligious dialogue will be held in San Biagio (Subiaco) focusing on peace formation as a means of promoting life and integration.
The event is aimed at representatives of different confessions and faiths: Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants, Anglicans, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, united for a shared study on the theme of peace education for the promotion of life.
The day will be divided into several sections during which the theme will be developed through artistic expressions: dance, music, poetry, visual arts, and more, freely narrated respecting diversity and accompanied by comments on the deep and individual meanings to be shared.
The goal is to share the wealth of each of the traditions present on the theme of peace and promotion of life. Continue reading

Dehonians. Fr. Heiner Wilmer, SCJ, appointed bishop
Today, April 6, 2018, Pope Francis appointed Fr. Heiner Wilmer, SCJ, as the new bishop of the Diocese of Hildesheim (Germany). Father Wilmer is the 10th Superior General of the Congregation of Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus – Dehonians. He will assume responsibility as the 71st pastor of the Diocese of Hildesheim.
The Diocese of Hildesheim, which includes the city of Hanover, is one of the oldest dioceses. Continue reading

Death of Fr Mark McDonald
I am very sad to report that Fr. Mark McDonald, MSC, our former Superior General, died last night in bed in Center Valley, PA. Fr. Kennedy discovered his body this morning, April 2. Please pray for his eternal rest and for his family.
